Before we look at the season coming we need to look at the season just gone. The contrast between our adult teams to our young age teams is enormous;  from perhaps the worst seasons in living memory with our Junior and Senior teams, to winning the FAI Youth Cup with our Under 18’s. It was both a great year and a year to take a good hard look at ourselves.

We’ve made some changes to the structure of the club and set out plans to build on our achievements of 2012/13. We will put up our hands and say we dropped the ball, we didn’t push on from winning the AUL Premier A and try to maintain our top division status, but that has been rectified and we are looking at getting back to the top division as soon as possible.

We’ve appointed a new manager to our Junior team, Timmy Sheehan has taken over and is tasked with getting the junior team back on a stable footing aswell as getting them back into the AUL Premier league. Timmy has previous management experience in the club, he managed the Under 19 team to a league and cup double a couple of season ago. Timmy knows he has a tough job but we expect Timmy and his team to do very well.

Aside from our junior team’s personnel change, our club has made changes in the club, both in the committee and to our club’s playing/training areas.  We have named a new Chairman; Rodney Power has replaced Martin Meehan, who has become our Child Welfare Officer and we would like to thank Martin for his great work over the past few years. We hope our new structure will allow us to keep every aspect of the club up to date as we have created new positions and filled them with the best people for the job.

Only recently we have put the finishing touches on our newest pitches. Pitches 4 & 5 will be ready for 2013/14 season. Alongside this, we will be making changes to further our training grounds which will help us develop our underage teams which in turn will help produce even better players for our adult teams.

Social Media is very important to us. We have made changes to our Facebook page and this allows us to keep our club supporters updated with vital match and club information. We have also set up a blog page (castleviewafc.blogspot.ie) and through this we will be posting match reports, team pictures and sponsorship details.

We hope that our plans will allow us to maintain our status as a big club in Senior, Junior and underage football. We are always looking to better ourselves both on and off the pitch. The coming years will tell a lot.
